Casa Fernandez JFR Lunatic Loco Maduro cigars are billed as using only premium binder and fillers grown on the company’s famed Aganorsa farms in Nicaragua. Many other premium and boutique cigar manufacturers use these prized tobaccos on some of their blends, as it imparts a unique richness that sets it apart from all other tobacco leaves. The cigars are finished with both a dark, oily, Corojo wrapper grown under shade in Jalapa, and a slightly darker Mexican maduro leaf. After lighting a Loco Maduro with the Mexican maduro wrapper, I was greeted with bold, yet very smooth flavors of spice, chocolate, earth, leather, pepper, and sweet tobacco. The Corojo variety produced a similar taste experience with flavors of earth, spice, leather, nuts, and cocoa. Both were fantastic smokes that I plan on keeping well stocked in my humidor. If you love bold, unique, maduro cigars, then, Casa Fernandez JFR Lunatic Loco Maduro is a must-try!
