The newest Limited-Edition release produced at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua, rounding out the brand’s Black Works Studio portfolio, Black Label Trading Co. unveiled Paper Crane Limited Editon at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show. Now, why all the fuss and commotion on this particular leaf? Also known as “topping”, this method deflowers a plant thus forcing all the plant’s nutrients and sugars to be concentrated to its leaves deepening the shade of leaf’s color. Not only, a noticeable color change, upon harvesting, processing and then rolling, the result is a stronger, sweeter tobacco. A perfect vehicle, the Ecuadorian Connecticut Desflorado wrapper is teeming with tobacco from Nicaragua that is encased inside an Ecuadorian Habano binder. The result is a medium-full bodied smoke with enriching notes of citrus and spice for eager palates.
