Made to honor the history of this famous brand, Hoyo de Tradición cigars are extremely close in taste and strength to the original Cubans—even the bands are identical. The cigar is box-pressed, and has an attractively oily, silky viso rosado wrapper from the Jamastran Valley of Honduras. The prelight smell filled the nose with hay and cedar notes that indicate extensive aging. This is a pleasurable, aromatic smoke layered with hearty, rich flavors of nuts, spice, and cocoa, and a very smooth medium-to-full-bodied character. The cigar finishes with an underlying sweetness that leaves a clean taste on the tongue.
