Once upon a time, while co-founder of RoMa Craft Tobac, Skip Martin was watching an episode of the documentary series "Chef's Table”, he honed in on one word Francis Mallmann used, 'maestranza'. As the word is loosely defined as 'the people who are around you helping', the Maestreanza name came to be – Inspired by humility and humble beginnings. Fitting, as RoMa Craft owes much of the brand’s and success of Nica Sueño factory, to the people who helped contribute to where they are now. With that being said, the brand decidedly chose to honor them with RoMa Craft La Maestranza line of cigars.
RoMa Craft is known for debuting a lot of limited editions over the years that have been met with mass fanfare and excitement. This gem is no different, except there is a bit more buzz around the introduction as it is the premier regular production line from the brand. This line will only be sold in the US and readily available in 40-count boxes and 20-count bundles. Comprising the Maestranza line is a single blend formatted into three different Vitolas: Ciutadella Catalonia (4x50), Castillito Murcia (5x60), Caballería Valencia (6x52).
Now, let’s get into the blend. Featured is a choice, three-country core of fillers from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua laying lush beneath a Brazilian binder and finished with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. This carefully selected arrangement of tobaccos elicits a melodious, medium-bodied profile characterized by its impressive, intricate smoke progression. Even as considerably small cigar sizes, each transition lends a distinct and prominent performance both on the retrohale and tastebuds. Let the wave of flavors including dark chocolate and spice injected notes of cedar and earth encompass the senses. Your palate will be more than the pleased.
Maestranza is a very worthy addition to RoMa Craft’s prestigious portfolio as well as your humidor! Shop Cigars today for this incredible experience.
