Gurkha Year of The Dragon

GUOLYD
In recent years, leaders in the cigar industry have been showcasing some of their most memorable smoking experiences with yearly releases coinciding with the Chinese New Year and relating zodiac symbol. Over the years Gurkha has long since been encompassing dragon iconography throughout a number of their releases and with 2024 being the Year of the Dragon, they were not going to let this opportunity pass them by. Joining the list of companies to commemorate the Chinese New Year, Gurkha Year of The Dragon made its debut in 2024. According to the Chinese Zodiac, people born in the Year of the Dragon are considered to be intelligent, confident and ambitious. Earnest indeed, Gurkha decided to collaborate with four of some of the most talented companies in the industry - AJ Fernandez, Casa Carrillo, Oliva and Oscar Valladares - to craft additional Year of The Dragon offerings for the market. A fabulous five, each form utilizes a different blend brandishing a unique smoke specific to each format; but collectively, the limited-edition smoke is simply stellar and will be released in small quantities. First, housed in a red box is a 6 3/4 x 52 figurado made in the Dominican Republic by El Artista. Second, found in a green box is a 6 5/8 x 52 figurado crafted in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez. Third is a Dominican 6 5/8 x 54 toro by E.P. Carrillo in a black box. From Oliva Cigar Co. is number four, a Nicaraguan 6 1/2 x 60 figurado filed in an orange box; and finally, a 6 x 52 toro made in Honduras by Oscar Valladares in a yellow box. While red and orange symbolizes good fortune and joy, yellow or gold symbolizes wealth as explained in Chinese culture, this can be seen through the varying color schemes, whose focal point is none other than a dragon, in each of the cigar’s dress including the bands and packaging. Handmade, the themed smoke’s specific tobacco blend is undisclosed for certain iterations. However, the all-star line-up exhibits similar shades of brown wrappers that are slightly rough and oily with a veiny touch, including a Maduro wrapper and an EMS wrapper. Falling into the medium-full range the creation is easy-to-smoke with overarching notes of cream, oak and cocoa followed by spice and coffee. No matter the vitola of choice, enthusiasts are sure to experience a high-quality cigar signature to the brand’s luxe caliber. A rare and special offering, next time you decide to celebrate a special occasion, instead of lighting fireworks, why not take a moment to spark up a festively themed cigar. Shop your very own edition in boxes of 10 at Cigars.com today before they are all gone.
