The H. Upmann Hispaniola By Jose Mendez Robusto cigar was hands down the best Upmann cigar that I have ever smoked! This stick was solidly packed, and covered by a strikingly oily reddish-brown wrapper. The pre-light nose presented the smell of hay and musty cedar that is the result of perfect aging. After lighting, I was greeted with earth and peppery tones that quickly gave way to nuances of cashews, cocoa, and sweet cream, that remained throughout the length of the smoke. I’d call the strength medium to full bodied, leaning more towards the medium side, thanks to its extensively aged tobaccos. If your looking for a bold departure from the classic nutty taste of the original H.Upmann, then, this is definitely the cigar for you!
