The Oscar Connecticut

The Oscar Connecticut Toro cigar combines a Honduran binder with long fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras, covered by mocha brown colored Connecticut Shade wrapper. At first glance one would think that the cigar has both a light and dark wrapper, but the green candela leaf covering two thirds of the cigar is not to be smoked, but rather its used as an outer sleeve to protect the cigars from damage. This is a design concept replacing cellophane, that Oscar has used on his leaf series. Upon removing the green leaf, I noticed the cigar was firmly packed, evenly colored, and a had pre-light nose of barnyard hay and cedar, letting me know that the cigars were aged to perfection. This was a mellow-to medium bodied cigar leaning towards the medium side , that issued rich flavors of spice and leather , backed by creamy notes of cedar, almonds , and subtle hints of vanilla. This combination of unique and savory flavors made Oscar Connecticut Toro one of the richest and tastiest Honduran cigars that I have ever smoked!
